Newly discovered records or different variants of registered records added to the Discography. Most of them are released recently, but some years ago.

Njål Sparbo: Natt og Dag, Norwegian Songs vol. 2 (2018, Norway)

The bass-baritone Njål Sparbo released in 2018 the follow-up album to "Norge, Mitt Norge, Norwegian Songs vol. 1" from 2005. This time with larger focus on more unknown Norwegian songs, arranged by himself for Harp and String Quartet. 18 Norwegian composers contributes with 21 songs to poems by 18 various poets. Most of them are Norwegian, but some foreign as well. Geirr Tveitt is represented with Nótt ok Dagr (Night and Day) with norse text by Snorri Sturluson. This was originally written for bass and piano, but exists also in a version with text translated to Norwegian. There are many great songs on the album that deserves to be more known and listened to. The composers without Tveitt are: Alf Hurum, Sigurd Lie, Eivind Groven, David Monrad Johansen, Carl Gustav Sparre Olsen, Edvard Fliflet Bræin, Pauline Hall, Maj Sønstevold, Sverre Bergh, Klaus Egge, Øistein Sommerfeldt, Antonio Bibalo, Arne Nordheim, Ragnar Sønderlind, Edvard Hagerup Bull, Terje Bjørklund og Magnar Åm. Erlend Øye: Legao (2014.09.24, Japan)

The Japanese release of Norwegian artist Erlend Øye's Legao album has a special bonus track of
Sumarnatta (We shall not sleep away the summer night) not found on the US and European releases.

Registered earlier as a MP3 album, but it was also released on CD together with a songbook. It contains a singback version of Vi skal ikkje sova bort sumarnatta (We shall not sleep away the summer night).


Les "Kool Kat" Hemstock.: Swing it i Dalom (1990, Norway)

The CD release have been registered earlier, but not the LP and MC versions. This is the second album released on all these 3 formats (Lars Klevstrand: Her (Here) was the first in 1988). This recording contains a remix of Hestehandlarar (Horse-dealers) by the English DJ Leslie Hemstock.

Salonnières: Salonnières (2019.02.22, France)

MP3 album by French trio which includes a version of Velkomne med ære (Welcome with honour) arranged for piano, violin and voice.

Nordlys: Sommar Sommar Sommar (2019.07.10, Germany)

CD by German group Nordlys who plays Nordic summer songs on this album. It includes an instrumental version of
Vi skal ikkje sova bort sumarnatta (We shall not sleep away the summer night).

Ami Aspelund: Så in i Norden (So very Nordic) (2019.05.24, Finland)

MP3 album by Finnish singer Ami Aspelund. She sings a duet with Norwegian Erik-André Hvidsten on

Ole Amund Gjersvik: Bass alone (2018.10.19, Norway)

MP3 album by Norwegian bass player Ole Amund Gjersvik. As the title indicates, he playes all the melodies on his double-bass. The album includes instrumental versions of Vi skal ikkje sova bort sumarnatta (We shall not sleep away the summer night) and Fløytelåt (Flute sound).

Marit Samuelsen: Nordic Noir - Promo (2017.09.15, France)

Promotional CD launched by Norwegian violinist Marit Samuelsoen with Trondheimssolistene (The Trondheim Soloists) and her brother Håkon Samuelsen on cello. Some of the works from the composers Uno Helmersson, Olafur Arnalds, Frans Bak, Arvo Pärt and Johan Söderqvist are specially commisioned by Marit. The music is described as "A cinematic world of dark forests and icy, bottomless lakes, where the landscape becomes a metaphor for the the darkness of the human soul - that's the essence of Nordic Noir". A version of Geirr Tveitt's Vél komne med æra (Welcome with honour) is one of the 12 works that are performed. These are the same as on the final release of Nordic Noir (Decca 481 4879)

Lina Adolphson och Kafe Frid: Fridlyst- sånger, bilder och tankar om livets ögonblick. (2010.06.05, Sweden)

CD + Book containing 12 songs, where one is Vi ska inte sova bort sommarnatten (We shall not sleep away the summer night, text: Aslaug Låstad Lygre, in swedish translation (1969) by Susanne Löwenhard). This version is also included on Lina Adolphsson: Jag vill leva varsamt, released in 2021.


Helene Bøksle: Ved havet (By the Ocean) (2017.07.29, Norway)

Not released on CD, only available as MP3 download or streaming, This EP album contains a version of   Vi skal ikkje sova bort sumarnatta (We shall not sleep away the.summer night). This is the same recording of the song as the one on the MP3 compilation Min musikalske historie - 2006-2019 (My musical story - 2006-2019) from 2020. 


Margunn Aasbrenn: Min gitar var mitt redskap  (My guitar was my tool) (2015, Norway)

This CD is a compilation of Norwegian troubadour Margunn Aasbrenn's earlier songs. It contains a version of Vi skal ikkje sova bort sumarnatta (We shall not sleep away the summer night). This was first recorded in 1989, see the ther releases below.

This is the Danish version of this compilation of various classical works targeted at a young audience. The Naxos box consists of 3 CD's with a total playing time of 3.5 hours. Geirr Tveitt is represented with Velkomne med æra (Welcome with honour) taken from Bjarte Engeset's recording with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra from 2001.


Sissel: Into Paradise (2006, UK)

This CD is Sissel Kyrkjebø's UK release of the Into Paradise album from 2006. It contains a version of Velkomne med æra (Welcome by honour), called Dusk in this arrangement by Kjetil Bjerkestrand. The Dusk text is credited Smedberg. The piano is played by Håvard Gimse.

This CD is Sissel Kyrkjebø's US release of the Into Paradise album from 2006. It contains a version of Velkomne med æra (Welcome by honour), called Dusk in this arrangement by Kjetil Bjerkestrand. The Dusk text is credited Smedberg. The piano is played by Håvard Gimse. The songs on the US release has a different order than the UK, Norwegian and Russian releases. The US version opens with Dusk (Welcome by honour), while it is number six on the others.

A compilation box with 8 CD's. It contains a version of Fløytelåt (Flute sound), sung by Tor Endresen from the album Nære ting (Close things) by himself and Rune Larsen, first released in 1997 and re-issued in 2002 and 2004.
